July 13, 2003 - Riddle me this...
So the whole broken wrist thing is winding down. 5 weeks now, another week in a cast to go, and a return to work after that. Time sure drags when a wrong move of your arm sends flashes of white hot pain thru your body.
For perfectly sound reasons, I was thinking of buying a new computer instead of doing some upgrades on mine. Seriously considering it. So I headed on over to the apple store, for the second time in a few days. I guess the first time in there, I got the apple stink on me.
The model I want, I suppose, is a 15" powerbook. Which Apple is more than happy to ass rape you on. Don't believe me? Check them yourself.. Notice how the 15" powerbook lacks the builtin bluetooth of the cheaper models, has the slower hard drive (both the cheaper and more expensive models have better hard drives), and has the inferior graphics card.
Basically my opinion of Apple has shot into the shitter on this one. They know the 15" is going to be the popular model, and they skimp on the components on it, and, well, what can ya do? Not buy one is a good option I suppose.
Thus ends my new powerbook flirtation. There seem to be much better alternatives available, and you don't need to run that windows thing either. Just like a powerbook. Without the raping.
