December 05, 2003 - Men what do rock!

A few weeks ago on K-Rock I stumbled on the song "I believe in a thing called love". It immediately hit a chord. It was like we rolled back music's attitude to the 80s. It was like 80s metal came back, but with a sensibility for the current time.

I wanted to check out the CD, but I had no idea who sang the song. Until I stumbled across the video on the teevee.

Holy crap. This shit is awesome.

First of all, most of the action takes place in a spaceship. A cheesy 80's spaceship. With sliding panel doors and a huge monster wall of amps. Or something. For some reason there's a hot tub in there.

But you'll forget all of that when you get to the scene where the singer throws a giant rock at a huge alien crab creature while the disembodied heads of his bandmates hover in the background.

Yeah, I really typed "the scene where the singer throws a giant rock at a huge alien crab creature while the disembodied heads of his bandmates hover in the background."

Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, the video ends with the band's ship under attack by what looks like a giant amoeba. Previously mentioned amoeba is humping the ship, and is eventually driven off by the guys in the band who somehow are shooting lasers out of their musical instruments.

Yeah, the amoeba is humping the spaceship. Deal with it.

Anyway, check the video out. And, if you liked GnR, Whitesnake, Boston, Night Ranger, etc, check the CD out. It's the antithesis of all the emo stuff that's shoved down everyone's throat. Definetly will have your head boppin.
