November 27, 2004 - Changes are coming....

I suppose it's now official, I no longer live in the United States of America. In some ways, I guess this was for the best. I mean...

Oh wait, sorry, I was just off in my happy place again. That map, man it cracks me up. Ya see how they had all of us rational people up north leaving "Jesusland"? Shit, I guess if they did that all the scientists wouldn't be fleeing the country in droves. Sure, first it's stem cell research. That's a fait acompli at this point. But, for the love of jesusland, they're putting creationism back in the books. Millions of years of fossils be damned, the earth is only 4000 years old and we're gonna have to stick to that. I shit you not.

Next, the return of the flat earth theory, with Crawford, TX being the center of the world. Don't get too close to the edge, there be dragons there.

But that's the future... as for the now, Bush II has pledged to cut the monster deficit we have. At least that's something I can get behind. Unfortunately, he has not elected to roll back tax cuts in a period of unprecedented spending... nah, that'd make too much fucking sense. Instead, he's going to cut taxes further and reduce some corporate tax incentives. Namely the one that gives companies a nice tax break if they offer their employees health insurance.

Think about that for a second... companies only give employees health insurance now because they get breaks to do so. It's expensive. It's a pain in the ass. If that incentive goes... well... why bother? Or is there some sort of twisted Bush logic that I'm missing?

But wait... there's some good stuff happening. The 100K tax break on the 10mpg, more smog than a Newark refinery, Hummer has been cut to 25K. Meanwhile, the tax break on the 50mpg and hardly any emissions at all Hybrid class remains at 2K and is scheduled to be phased out. Hey, who needs clean air?

But wait, aren't we supposed to be reducing our dependence on foreign oil? Shit, I'm helping out. I bought one of those hybrids. People with SUVs that have American flags on the back may as well just put giant bumper stickers across the back that say "I (heart) Osama!". Pumping money into Saudi Arabia, where most of the 9/11 terrorists came from, doesn't help the war on terrorism.

But as the red state moron might ask, but that's what we're doing in Iraq, ain't it? Well, let's see. There were no WMDs. None. None of the 9/11 highjackers were from Iraq. None. Meanwhile, the poor ol' CIA, who warned that there were no WMDs in the first place is being purged. That way, in the future, they'll give the President the wrong information that he wants to hear. But when you're declaring war on countries, the only information you need is what you want to hear.

So anyway, going back to the war on terrorism. I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, that to most of the people in the midwest there is no difference between Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden. Let's clear this up once and for all, 'kay? Osama is the guy who masterminded the plot to take down the world trade center. Saddam is the guy we captured. No relation. Nothing in common.. Last I heard we were after Osama... or are we? Maybe these two quotes will clear stuff up...

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." - G.W. Bush, 9/13/01
"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." - G.W. Bush, 3/13/02

And this guy had the audacity... the absolute fucking balls... to call Kerry a flip flopper. Last I checked, Kerry didnt' flip flop over a guy who's responsible for thousands of American deaths. That honor belongs to George W. Bush and George W. Bush alone. You're truly in an elite crowd there Georgie.

This is some depressing shit, ain't it? Ah well, at least we up here in the United States of Canada (sorry, dreaming again)... well, at least we voted for Kerry up here. Most of the people who voted for Bush in the bible belt, did so because of "Values". And let's face it, the values in question weren't religious values. Both candidates were good, religious men. No, the values in question were fag hating, raghead hating, and intolerance. If you're one of those people who voted for Bush because of values, luckily there are two places on earth which share your values.

1) The Southern US
2) Iran.

Pretty fucking ironic, isn't it, you Bush voting motherfuckers?
