January 10, 2005 - I imagine it went something like this...

Is there any rule which states: "The carpet installation person who uses the staple gun must be slightly slower, mentally, than the other installers. It is recommended that he be borderline insane and amused by the sound of a staplegun going 'kerchunk'".

There must be.

I say this only because I can't otherwise explain what was underneath the bedroom carpet. I figure the carpet installer must have figured he was painting the sistine chapel. With a staple gun.

In one corner there would be your standard 4 staples. In another, it was like a staple wonderland. Interlocking geometric patterns of staples, all laid in with precision.

Okay, I lied. It was just a mass of staples, all on top of each other.

I'm sure they probably thought nobody would remove the carpet. I mean, bright pink/red carpet never goes out of style, does it? Especially in a bedroom.

Coming soon, before and after pictures of that bedroom!
