JonnyChat
A free J2ME based AIM chat application.
Release highlights
1.19 - 03-30-08
The settings screen has gotten a facelift, and shouldn't be so craptastic anymore.
1.18 - 03-10-08
After nearly a year, we've got a new version of J2ME Polish, and a new version of Jonnychat. New features include the fix for the 'left/right after ending a conversation' issue, and a great new framed chat window. Once you see it, you'll never know how you used the old version.
1.17 - 06-23-07
This is the second beta of the new Jonnychat. There are some UI improvements, and a Series60 specific build (dig those menus). Also, menus should be a bit more logical on more devices now (ie, commonly used items should appear first and/or get their own softkey. This version has been built with a newer version of the polish libraries (Beta 4 instead of 3), and that should help things out as well. To be honest, I wanted to wait for the release version, as that fixes a lot of things I want to implement (such as the framed forms which allow me to add a spinner so you can move between chat windows without having to go to the buddy list, but that's still going to wait for the release I think.
1.15 - 03-13-07
If you've never used this software before, please read the main jonnychat page first. All of your issues, fears, and questions should be answered there.
This is a beta release of the newest version of JonnyChat. I've never done a beta release before, and truth be told this should be a fairly solid release. However, the GUI is all new, it uses an all new framework (J2ME Polish), and there could be issues on your phone. That's where the whole 'beta' thing comes in. See, ideally what I'd like you (you being the users out there) to do is install it, run it, and report any problems.
When you report a problem, please send me the following information:
- What happened.
- How you made the thing that happened happen.
- What phone you are using.
- Your carrier and your data plan. I won't always know what you're using, but it's more helpful than not.
- Where I can find an emulator for your phone. This item, when combined with items one through three, really increases
the chances that the bug will be fixed.
What's new
- A fantastic new settings screen.

visible, and the chat portion scrolls independently of the text input window.

 | | This is the settings window. It looks much better and just makes way more sense.
